On this historic day, TCL Chinese Theatre rolled out the "Ruby Red" carpet for the world premiere screening of The Wizard of Oz 3D.

After extensive renovation, TCL Chinese Theatre has reopened its doors and is now the world's largest IMAX auditorium and the first 3D venue in Hollywood.

Ruth Duccini, known for playing one of the munchkins in the original film, graced the carpet and participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony alongside fellow characters the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow and Glinda the Good Witch. Ruth is 95 years old and is the oldest of the two surviving munchkins from the film.

Many notable celebirities attended this special event, some bringing their childen to enjoy the magnificent film. Mario Lopez brought his adorable daughter Gia who dressed as Dorothy and even had her own Toto in tow! Also celebrating with family were Molly Ringwald, Marcia Gay Harden and Alison Sweeney.

Although it was a hot California afternoon, Joell Posey didn't seem to mind as she glided down the carpet in her elegant pink dress. Jelena Scott also walked the carpet seemingly unaffected by the heat showcasing her long golden gown. Drew Carey was full of laughs and seemed to truly enjoy the festivities.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary, The Wizard of Oz originally held its premiere at the Chinese Theatre in 1939.

The Wizard of Oz 3D will air in select theaters across the country for one week only beginning September 20. Warner Bros Home Entertainment is also releasing a collector's edition Blue-ray available October 1st.
