Hollywood rolled out the black carpet for the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, starring Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom and Evangeline Lilly. This thrilling adventure will keep Hobbit fans on the edge of their seats as the journey to reclaim the Lonely Mountain unfolds.

With fans as far as the eye could see, the stars arrived on the carpet to waves of cheers. The evening began with the unforgettable arrival of Manu Bennett, who blocked traffic on Hollywood Blvd as he pulled up in his bright yellow Lamborghini.

Fan favorite, Evangeline Lilly dazzled in her elegant white gown while Benedict Cumberbatch looked dapper showing off his plum suit coat coupled with his perfect bow tie! Orlando Bloom, Richard Armitage and Luke Evans mingled with each other and fellow castmates as they made their way down the carpet.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves on an epic quest.

In this adventure they must face a creature more terrifying than any other and one which will test the limits of their friendship and the depth of their courage...the Dragon Smaug.

Directed by Academy Award winning filmmaker Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second film in a trilogy based upon the popular novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Originally written in 1937, The Hobbit has been enjoyed by generations of fantasy loving fans. Distributed by Warner Bros, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug arrives in theaters on December 13th.
